Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Will We Reunite?
February 26, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
Will my ex and I reunite? We were together for a year, and have fought constantly for the past three months. But I truly feel he is the one for me. He said he has never put so much into a relationship as he has with this one, even his family was shocked. But now he says there is no more”us”, however, he also said he hasn’t completely given up on us yet. He said he cannot say if we will or will not get back together, just to give it time. I’m broken hearted over this.
—L.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear L.,
Perhaps he just got tired of the fighting, whether he was in the right or not. Either way, astrology can tell us whether there is a future for your relationship. I cast a chart for the time that I understand your question, and the horary chart for your question is below:
You are shown by Jupiter, ruler of the first house of self, your emotions are shown by the Moon, and your urge to find a mate is shown by Venus. He is shown by Mercury, ruler of your seventh house of partners, and his urge to find a mate is shown by the Sun. We see that you are in a pretty powerful position in the situation, as Jupiter is in its own sign right on the cusp of the 10th house. This suggests that you have a great deal of influence in the situation, but you will also notice that Jupiter, by being in Sagittarius, is also in the detriment and fall of Mercury. So there is a sense that you had your share of blame for driving this guy away.
The Moon is in Cancer, which is its own sign, suggesting that emotionally, you are currently focused on yourself, though the Moon recently left Gemini, which is ruled by Mercury, your ex’s significator. So you used to be gaga over him emotionally, but recently have been focusing on your own needs. Finally, in Aries, Venus is in the exaltation of the Sun, where it has recently arrived as well. He definitely used to drive you nuts, perhaps because he wasn’t interested in a long-term relationship, but you now place him on a bit of a pedestal. Absence makes the heart grow fonder type of thing.
So how does he feel? We see that he significator, Mercury, is very interested in you, because it is in the sign of your significator, Pisces. However, Mercury is retrograde and will shortly move back into Aquarius, where it is not interested in you. However, his co-significator, the Sun is in Pisces, were it will stay for a while. This gives us the sense that on a basic, biological level he is interested in you. However, I am not convinced that this is enough to make for lasting reconciliation, even if such a reconciliation should occur. The Moon will trine the Sun, giving us a sense of the opportunity to reconcile will occur, but because neither the Moon or the Sun are very interested each other by reception, I suspect that both of you will think better of it.

Free Astrology Readings: Horary Question – Does He Really Want a Divorce?
February 23, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
My husband and I have been together for a total of 10 years (dating for 5 years and married for almost 5 years). Last year he and I started getting into arguments about him going out to the bars. In July of 2006 I later found out that he had met a married woman and was calling her, seeing her, and who knows what with her. I confronted him and the woman about it. The woman refused to leave him alone and he moved out of the house.
The lady doesn’t see him when her husband is in town from work. In October 2006 he filed for a divorce. Sometimes it seem as though he want to come home and others it’s like something is holding him back. I once was told that we are soulmates from this psychic. Is that true? Does he really want to divorce me? Does he really want this other woman? Does she really want him or is she just using him? I told him I would forgive him and take him back if he was willing to change. We have 2 children involved. And he can’t give me a reason for leaving. Once he said I was too controlling but nothing else. I feel that there is something still there and I don’t want the divorce.
—A.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear A.,
I am glad that you e-mailed me specifically with this question. If I’m understanding things correctly and reading between the lines, a big part of your concern is not only whether your husband will in fact divorce you, but also whether this other woman has put something on him. It does sound that way, especially since he seems to be going back and forth in his mind, and cannot give you a clear reason for leaving you. I will cast a chart to see what lies ahead, and we will also see whether something has been put on him. The horary chart for your question is below:
You are shown by the Sun, ruler of the first house of self, and your husband is shown by Saturn, ruler of your seventh house of partners. First, let us see whether she is using any kind of witchcraft on him. One of the classic signs that somebody has been bewitched is when the 12th house and the first house are ruled by the same planet. Here, we have to turn the chart, so your seventh house of partners becomes your husband’s first. Both his first and his 12th house are ruled by Saturn. We notice that his 12th house of witchcraft contains Mars in Capricorn. This is very likely the other woman. Mars is in Saturn sign, and will soon enter Aquarius, where it is still in the sign of Saturn. This woman wants him bad. And she is obviously using any means necessary to get him.
The interesting thing is that Saturn is just inside your house, and it is retrograde, showing that your husband very much wants to return. However, since that is not happening, I can only assume that the woman is very good at controlling him, and he is acting against his deepest wishes.
Now, I cast two Arabian parts, the Part of Marriage and the Part of Divorce. The Part of Marriage is located at 0° Cancer (so its significator is the ruler of Cancer, the Moon), while the Part of Divorce is located at 6° Virgo (its significator is Mercury). We seeing that Mars, the other woman, is in the detriment of the Moon, showing that she hates and harms your marriage. Interestingly, your husband is not very interested either in your marriage, but he is not interested in a divorce either, since he is not in any strong dignities of the Moon or Mercury. I suspect that you will end up getting divorced, as I do not see the pressure from this woman letting up. And that is what’s driving the whole situation. The Moon, your co-significator, will shortly square Mercury, which shows divorce. This itself is strong testimony that the two of you will actually get divorced.
Since I do have a very strong suspicion that your husband is being worked on, it may be appropriate for you to visit someone who specializes in these matters. If you want, send me an e-mail and we can talk about the different options that you have. In this case, I’m afraid that one can only fight fire with fire.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Will I Get a New Job?
February 21, 2007 by admin

Horary Question:
My professional life is a mess. I feel very frustrated at the moment because I hate my work, I would like to do something that could give me some kind of motivation. The working conditions at my company are simply ridiculous, I have actually answered several job offers but so far I’ve had no results. I’m feeling very unhappy
and this is affecting me. What lies ahead for my career?
—P.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear P.,
I sympathize with your situation, as it seems there are far more terrible workplaces than good ones. I am not sure why, apart from the fact that many people bring their reptilian brain to work (instead of their frontal lobe), and they interact with others on the same level. Let’s look at the situation using horary astrology to see whether things will improve. The horary chart for your question is below:

You are shown by Venus, ruler of the first house of self. Your co-significator is the Moon. Venus has recently moved into Aries, whereas before it was in Pisces, in the sign of its exaltation. In Aries, Venus is in the sign of its detriment, so we have a very dramatic loss of comfort, enjoyment, or status. It may be that very recently, something happened at your job to make it totally unbearable, which is what prompted this question.
Your co-significator, the Moon, is exiting Aries and will enter Taurus in about a degree. This tells me that you’re probably going to leave your job. I like that in entering Taurus, the Moon enters the sign of its exaltation, so we get a sense that you be moving to a better place. Because this is going to happen in 1°, I would give this a month or maybe even a year, depending on how long these things normally take where you are. We also note that the Arabian Part of Resignation and Dismissal is at 5° Gemini, which your significator, Venus, will sextile in about 4 1/2 degrees. This would indicate that we are looking at about four weeks = one month before you leave the place. Two aspects show the same event in this chart.
We see that the Moon very recently squared Mars in Capricorn, which is in the sign of the Moon’s detriment. Mars rules the seventh house of coworkers, as well as the 12th house of hidden enemies. So either of these people, perhaps they are one and the same, may have done something recently that would really be the last straw for you.
Incidentally, yes, your job really does stink. It is represented by the 10th house of career, ruled by Saturn in detriment retrograde. There are few things worse than this. But cheer up, you’re not going to be there much longer.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Will We Get Back Together?
February 21, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
Will we get back together? I’ve been looking for some answers since my ex-boyfriend and I broke up. It happened in early February, because he felt that he needed to be alone, to do everything he always did before being with me (party almost every day with his friends, no control). We began our relationship on in February 2007, we were about to have two years this month. He says our relationship was going way too seriously, and he just can’t live with it, he doesn’t want it anymore.
We were best friends for six years, and before, when we were sixteen years old, we were together for a month and he broke up with me. I feel we should stay together. I would like to know if it’s going to stay only as a desire or if it’s going to happen, so I can feel calm and remain close to him. If not, I wil have to let go forever.
—U.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear U.,
One of the challenges that you face has to do with the fact that you just don’t know how committed your boyfriend is to this relationship. And I think this is what is making you confused; he cared for you enough that he would resume your relationship after your brief fling as teenagers, but he cannot maintain a “serious” relationship. It sounds as though he does not really know what he wants, so how can you be expected to know what he wants?
This is where horary astrology can be so helpful, because it helps us understand people’s motivations far better than even they themselves can understand. I cast a horary chart for the time that I understood your question, and the horoscope for your question is below:

In the horoscope, you’re represented by Mars, ruler of the first house of self, and your co-significator is the Moon, which shows your emotions. Your boyfriend is ruled by the seventh house of partners, and its ruler, Venus in Aries. His co-significator, showing his physical/hormonal side, is the Sun. When we look at these four planets, there is a lot of dynamic stuff going on, with every planet either leaving their current sign shortly, or having just arrived in a new sign recently. This tells us that both of you are reevaluating how you feel about the other person, and reprioritizing. No wonder you feel so confused!
Mars, representing you, is currently in its exaltation in Capricorn, so you feel pretty sure of yourself and you know what you want regarding this relationship. However, Mars is about to move into Aquarius, or where it loses much of the strength it had in Capricorn. In Aquarius, Mars is going to be in the detriment of the Sun. So there is a sense that you’re going to dislike or harm the physical side of your boyfriend. What is going on with the Sun itself? The Sun was recently in its detriment in Aquarius, but it has moved into the exaltation of Venus. Venus represents your boyfriend, so there is the sense that in the relationship, he wasn’t getting his hormonal/physical needs satisfied, or thought he wasn’t, which is why he left the relationship. We noticed that the Sun and Mercury are applying to a conjunction. This can mean that there is another person on the scene vis-à-vis your boyfriend, though I would not expect that particular entanglement to last, as neither the Sun or Mercury are very interested in each other. But there may be some kind of playing around.
However, because the Sun is now in the exaltation of Venus, we see that your boyfriend’s “pants” are listening to his head much more. And what is his rational mind want? We see that Venus has recently entered the sign of Mars, which represents you. So he realizes he is in love with you after all, and you are the one for him.
So how do you feel about this whole thing? We see that the Moon is in the last degrees of Aries, which is ruled by Mars, and we see that you are recently very concerned with yourself and how you felt about the whole situation. However, the Moon is about to enter its exaltation and the sign of Venus. Shortly after it does this, the Moon will sextile the Sun, which makes me think there will be a potential for reconciliation in five somethings, I would assume days, but we could be looking at something as much as weeks or months. In any case, I do think the two of you will reconcile, because this breakup has helped both of you see how important the other person is.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Will the U.S. Go to War Against Iran?
February 14, 2007 by admin
Will the U.S. go to war against Iran? I was just reading in the Guardian (British newspaper) that George Bush is going full steam ahead to bomb Iranian nuclear sites before he leaves office.
—G.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear G.,
Yours is certainly an interesting question, and it is unusual in that it affects many more people than just yourself and those around you. Horary astrology can be very helpful in answering specific questions, and it usually does best in answering questions in which we ourselves have a direct personal stake. Things like wars between nations are best ascertained from eclipse charts, charts for great conjunctions, and so on. However, at the very least, answering this question will showcase some of the techniques that ancient astrologers used for answering such questions with horary. Again, we must emphasize that the old astrologers used to work for the people who were actually waging the wars, as many of them were in the employ of kings, princes, and various war-loving nobles. We have to expect different levels of accuracy if Bush asks this question than if you, the average American, ask the question.
I cast a chart for the moment that I understood your question, and the horary chart is below:
We first see that the ascending degree is 28.5° Aries, a late degree. This can show that the questioner feels the situation is somehow inevitable. Given the overwhelming pressure that the US has been putting on Iran, your feelings are not unjustified. Since you are an American, we will give the US the first house and its ruler, Mars in Capricorn. Iran is ruled by the seventh house of the open enemy, and its ruler, Venus in Pisces. We also look at the Moon as the general flow of events, and notice that it is in Scorpio and void of course. When the Moon is void of course, absent any other testimony, we assume that nothing will happen.
We notice that Venus and Mars are in mutual reception by triplicity, giving us a sense that both parties have a lot at stake here, and the incentive to resolve issues without going to war is quite high. William Lilly, the 17th-century astrologer, writes that armies will clash when the Lord of the first and Lord of the seventh houses are conjunct in an angle, or aspecting one another with a square or opposition. It can also happen if the above aspects between the two planets are created by the translation or collection of light. We see that Venus and Mars are applying to a sextile; so under Lilly’s rules, this would not indicate war. However, we can expect some kind of contact between the two countries, given that it is a sextile, one would hope it is diplomatic rather than military.
Another way to analyze this horoscope is to treat it as a “is the rumor true?” type of horary. For that, we look at the angles, looking for fixity. We have Cardinal signs, which is not terribly encouraging as far as reliability. We have Gemini on the third house of rumors, which is highly unreliable, and its ruler Mercury is highly afflicted by its placement in Pisces, which is another mutable sign. So, though I am not a fan of “is the rumor true?” questions, I believe that from this perspective, the rumor is shown to be untrue. All this, of course, taken with a big grain of salt for the reasons explained above.
Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Should I Leave My Fiance for New Man?
February 13, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
I am engaged to a wonderful man; he is so special. And before last weekend I knew he was the one for me. We have been engaged for almost a year and have planned on getting married next year. However, I recently went on a hen’s weekend away with a group of girlfriends. It all was fine and dandy until I met someone. It was amazing: we talked all night, the chemistry was powerful and now I can’t stop thinking about him. I can’t be close to my fiancé as I don’t know how I feel anymore. I don’t want to hurt anyone or disappoint our friends and family. What should I do? Am I going to be happy if I get married to my fiancé? Or should I go?
—S.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear S.,
I can understand how you feel and I can see why you feel unsettled. It sounds to me like you are judging these two men based on different criteria; your fiancé has been through the test of fire, since you’ve known him for so long, you’re absolutely sure he is the one. The other guy you only met and spoke with for an evening. So how can you be sure that a long-term relationship with him would be possible? Still, I do believe that sometimes, we can know whether a potential partner is the one for us right away. But it is very difficult to distinguish this feeling from infatuation, at least in the early stages, and this is where astrology can be so very helpful.
As always, I cast a horoscope for the time that I understood your question, a technique known as horary astrology. The idea with horary is that the horoscope for the time of the question contains the answer to the question. The horary chart for your question is below:
You are shown by the Moon, which is the ruler of your first house of self. Your female, “I need to find a mate” side is shown by Venus. Since we are dealing with two men here, only one of them will rule your seventh house of relationships, so we have to look at how the different planets feel about one another to distinguish which planet shows your fiancé and which one shows this new flame. We see that the Moon has recently separated from a sextile aspect to Saturn. This seems to show that Saturn is the new guy. This is further confirmed by the fact that the Moon is in the exaltation of Saturn, in Libra. Therefore, we can see that you put whatever Saturn represents on a pedestal. You are not doing that with your fiancé, so we can only conclude that you are idolizing the new guy, who is represented by Saturn.
How does Saturn feel about you? Saturn is in Leo, the sign of its detriment, and it is retrograde. It is not in strong dignities of either Venus, or the Moon. This shows that Saturn is not very interested in you, but it is very interested in whatever the Sun represents. The Sun is the new guy’s male co-significator, showing his need to find a mate, or his physical side. So, not to be too blunt, I think this guy is primarily interested in getting his physical needs met first and foremost. The Sun is in the sign of Saturn, showing that his hormones reciprocate the self-love. On any level, this guy is not nearly as interested in you as you are in him.
Now, this question may be as much about your fiancé’s relationship with you as it is about this new guy. We see that Venus, your female co-significator, is in the sign of Jupiter, Pisces. This means that on the physical, mate-needing level, you’re very interested in whatever Jupiter represents. I believe that Jupiter represents your fiancé. You are concerned that if you do go forward with your marriage, you may regret it. However, the chart shows very strongly that it’s going to be a very positive step for you. First, the Moon is about to conjoin the extremely benefic fixed star Spica, which promises love and protection. Venus is about to conjoin the benefic North node, which is yet another sign showing that where you’re headed will be very good for you. Finally, we see that Venus is going to square Jupiter in about a degree and a half, presumably showing your upcoming marriage to your fiancé. Jupiter is very strong, because it is a benefic planet in its own sign. That alone seems like a very positive event for you.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Are We Through? Does He Love Me?
January 31, 2007 by admin

Horary Question:
I’m recently separated. My husband of 13 1/2 years, walked out last March and almost immediately filed for divorce. It’s been a very painful year. I’m still grieving for my lost marriage, my lost hopes.
My husband is going through a midlife crisis of sorts. He lost his job several years ago and decided to go to college and finish his undergraduate degree. After 4 1/2 years of college, he’s almost done. Now he wants to go to graduate school… and says he can’t pay child support. He’s living with his parents. Also, my kids are really angry at him. And this is cause for concern. I’m nearly certain that we have no future together, but I’d like this confirmed.
Meanwhile, I have had a crush on a man I’ve known for several years. I think he is the bee’s knees, even if he is very private and seems not to be attracted to me at all. We are friends. And we talk daily. Any future for us?
—M.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear M.,
I’m sorry to hear about your husband, who seems to be having issues greater than just your marriage. We’ll have to look at the chart and identify each of the men; since the seventh house of partners can only show one person at a time, we will have to decide what planet shows whom, based on the receptions among the planets. The horoscope for your question is below:

You are shown by Mercury, Venus, and the Moon. Each of these planets represent a different facet of yourself in this situation. We will discuss each one as it becomes applicable throughout the analysis. Let us see if we can locate your husband. He is shown by Saturn in Leo, retrograde. Mercury has recently opposed Saturn, an aspect that shows breakups or separations.
Saturn is in terrible shape as it is in the sign of its detriment, so we can see that your husband is not doing well at the moment. Mercury, showing you, is in the sign of Saturn, indicating that you are still trying to extricate yourself from the feelings and bonds you have developed with your husband. Mercury is about to exit Aquarius and move into Pisces. This tells me that in less than a year called you will have moved on. I do not think that the two of you will reconcile in the foreseeable future.
Since your husband the shown by Saturn, and the guy you’re interested in is shown by the seventh house of partners. The house is ruled by Jupiter in Sagittarius, where it is in its own sign. This tells me that your friend is primarily interested in himself, and he does not seem to be in a place where he is open to a relationship with you. I wouldn’t take it personally, but just recognize that he is simply not available at this time. His co-significator is the Sun, which is in Aquarius, the sign of its detriment. He doesn’t seem very available on the physical level, either. I don’t see any of your planets Mercury, Venus, or the Moon about to meet with his planets, which tells me that there probably won’t be much of an opportunity for the two of you have a romantic relationship. Of course, this does not mean that the two of you can’t be friends. I am a little bit concerned about Mercury moving into Pisces, which is the sign of Jupiter. I suspect you may find yourself more and more attracted to your friend, and I hope it does not destroy your friendship.
My main feeling about both of these relationships is that things will remain largely as they are. The Moon is void of course, meaning that it will not make any more aspects in its current sign of Cancer. The Moon void of course tends to indicate that the situation will not change, and not much will happen.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Will My Business Succeed?
January 29, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
I have been considering opening a business related to house-cleaning and repairs. It will be a partnership between 3 people and we will hire and train personnel to do the job. This idea has been on my mind for some time now, but only today, talking with one of the prospective partners, I had the idea of asking that question before I venture into something that would demand a lot of work, not to mention lots of time and money. If I open this business will it be successful? Will we make money out of it? Will it grow?
—I.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear I.,
Yours is certainly an interesting question, and I only wish that everyone had such foresight before jumping into new ventures. When I do the horary reading for your question, I will look at the overall success of the prospective company, as well as the kind of money that you can make from it. I cast a chart for the moment I understood your question, an ancient method known as horary astrology that you can learn about on my website. The horary chart for your question is below:
First, we see that the benefic North node is on your first house itself. I see this as a positive indication, one that is not too specific, but that gives the chart a more positive spin overall. We will want to look primarily at the 10th and 11th houses, representing your business and money from it, respectively. The 10th house is ruled by Jupiter, which is in its own sign of Sagittarius in the ninth house. Your business will do quite well and grow over time, as Jupiter is so strong.
We also need to look at the 11th house, which shows the money from your prospective business. The house is ruled by Saturn in Leo in detriment in the sixth house. Saturn could probably not be any worse, which would indicate that you may have trouble making money, perhaps despite having lots of customers. It is unfortunately all too possible to run a business such that you have a lot of work without getting paid very much for your efforts. That may be the case here. However, I would also look at Mars in its exaltation in Capricorn just on the cusp of the 11th. Mars is very strong, and gives us a sense that something will be propping the profits up. Mars rules the second house of your partners, so your partners’ money. It may be that even though the business is not terribly lucrative, your partners would be willing to prop it up for a while with their own investment or something similar.
I noticed that the Moon is now void of course, meaning it will not make any aspects in its current sign of Gemini. This can mean that nothing will happen, and you may choose not to go forward with your project. We see that the Moon’s last aspect has been a trine to Mercury, the planet ruling your seventh house of partners. Mercury is in the sign of Saturn, so we can see that your partners are primarily concerned about the possible profits from the business. It may be that your partners have decided not to go forward because they do not see the potential profits.
Given the above guidance, I think your business has a great deal of potential, but I would highly recommend that you have the money angle nailed down to the last possible detail. So many people start businesses without considering whether the money they make will be enough to keep them and the business rolling. Any planned growth will also take an additional influx of cash. If there are three of you, you can do more work, but of course you will need to make more money to pay everyone fairly.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Astrology – Ever Marry Despite Skin Disease?
January 22, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
I want to know if and when I get married to the right person and whether our relationship will work out or not. I am very depressed because of some past experiences, and feel continuously rejected because of my face. I am in my early twenties, and had skin problems for years, which makes me very ugly. I am worried that no one will marry me.
—G.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear G.,
I am very sorry to hear about your problem, and sympathize because life is not always fair. In a perfect world, we would all be beautiful and perfect and have our choice of marriage partners. In reality, this is not so, and looks are unfortunately often important in how others value us.
I set a horoscope for the time that I understood your question, a technique known as horary astrology, wherein it once at the chart for the time the question is understood, and the answer is contained in the horoscope. The horary chart for your question is below:
You significator is Venus, ruler of the first house of self. Venus is not in terrible shape, it is Peregrine in the sign of Aquarius. So we can see that while you may not win beauty pageants because of your skin problems, you’re far from ugly. Venus is directly opposite Saturn, which is always a malefic planet, but especially now, because it is in the sign of detriment, Leo, and retrograde. Since Saturn rules the skin, we see that your skin is in a bad state and it is afflicting you.
You are also shown by the Moon, which is your co-significator, and it primarily shows your emotional state. The Moon is in the 12th house of self undoing and imprisonment, and it is very commonly seen in horary charts where the person is depressed or has given up all hope. The indication here is that you are in a prison largely of your own making, and have developed a complex. This is completely unnecessary, but you’re the only one who can decide that this disease is not going to run your life.
I believe you can get married; the situation is nowhere near as hopeless as you think it is. The Moon is in a fertile sign, which is a strong testimony for marriage. Venus is not very interested in the Sun or Mars, your future husband’s significators, which makes me think you’re not putting very much effort into trying to meet people or putting yourself out there as marriageable. This goes back to that Moon in the 12th house of self undoing – unless you make an effort, your results are going to be bad.
Your potential husband is shown by the ruler of the seventh house of partners, Mars, and his co-significator, the Sun. We can see when and if these significators will meet yours to see when will be the best opportunities for marriage. Our best bet is likely the Moon moving into Aries and squaring Mars. This will happen in 14° or so, so I would be inclined to look at this as months. Hopefully, this is not years, but I trust that the opportunity will come in just over a year.
You are also concerned that you might not be able to get the kind of husband you want, but I think you’ll be pretty pleased. I don’t expect him to be full of manly vim and vigor, but he is going to be a solid guy, and may in fact be from a higher social position or financial status than yourself. This is because Mars is exalted, though the Sun, representing his masculine side, is in its detriment in Aquarius.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Astrology – Will I Ever Be In a Long Term Relationship?
January 19, 2007 by admin
Horary Question:
Will I ever have a long term relationship? I’ve been getting natal astrological readings from both Western and Eastern astrologers who have told me that I will definitely be getting married. Then they give me a time prediction and it NEVER happens. Ever. I don’t even meet anyone. This has been going on ever since I can remember, for years. I’m 29 this year. Have all these astrologers been jerking my chain or what? Every “relationship” I’ve ever had ends abruptly, after only a couple of months. The guy just ups and leaves. Will I ever meet anyone that will stick around? I feel like I’ve been chasing a carrot on a stick my entire life. Will I ever meet “the one” or what?
—A.
Nina Gryphon:
Dear A.,
Ah, the fine art and science of timing our predictions. While I have no idea what your natal chart looks like, I expect that those astrologers were not jerking your chain. Timing a prediction is difficult, whether you’re working with horary astrology or natal astrology, because unless you’re very thorough and understand the chart very well, you will get it wrong. Of course, maybe the astrologers were just plain wrong. But either way, I don’t think they were intentionally leading you on, so much as wanting to please.
Let’s take a look at the horary chart for your question. Horary charts are horoscopes drawn for the moment the astrologer understands your question, and the idea is that the answer for the question is in the horoscope for the moment of the question. The horary chart for your question is below:
The chart shows pretty clearly that yes, you will have a long-term relationship at some point in your life. Scout’s honor, I am not yanking your chain. Because of your age, we will tend to look at testimonies pretty positively — it takes a whole lot less effort to get married at 29 than it does at say 89. And the chart will reflect that. We see that the ruler of your first house of self, Saturn, is in the seventh house of marriage. This is excellent, because it shows that you really do want a partnership and therefore will make an effort in that direction; you would be surprised how many people claim they want relationships, but they really do not.
Your co-significators, the Moon and Venus, your emotions, and your female urge to mate, respectively, are both in Aquarius, the sign of Saturn. So they are very much on board with the plan to find a long-term relationship, which is also helpful, because it shows that you don’t have some kind of inner conflict preventing you from finding a relationship and staying in it. The last positive testimony is that the Moon is in the same sign as Venus, which is a general indication that your feelings and your hormones are on the same page. So all these testimonies show that you are marriageable, and with a little effort, should not have serious problems finding a guy.
Now, let us see when your long term relationship will happen. Note, by the way, that this relationship may not actually last forever, but it will last sufficiently long to qualify as long-term. Since we have already established that such a relationship will happen, we know the timing is somewhere in the chart. Most likely, it is shown by the Sun’s opposition to Saturn. Normally, we wouldn’t take planets into the next sign or through prohibiting aspects, but these long-term questions are a pretty reliable exception. The Sun will oppose Saturn at 21.5° Aquarius, so it will travel about 22.5° to make the opposition happen. Given that the Sun is in a Cardinal sign and a cadent house, this will give us a timeline of 22 weeks, which translates to about five to six months. Hopefully the 22° refers to weeks not months, but if it refers to months, then we are looking at about two years. But, given how motivated this chart shows that you are, I would be more inclined to plump for the shorter timeframe.
Now, I do not know if this is the relationship to end all relationships, because it is happening thanks to the opposition, which tends to bring people together but with regret, or only to break them up later. But, you didn’t ask whether it would last forever and ever, you just wanted to know whether would be long-term. Of course, getting out there and meeting people is the number one way to, you know, meet people and increase your chances of being in a long-term relationship.
