Fertility and Conception: Free Astrology Reading. “Will I Conceive and When?”

Fertility and conception: Free astrology reading - \

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for more than a year now and have not been successful yet.  We started fertility medicine this June.  Our doctor said we are both able to have children. When will I get pregnant and what will be the sex of the baby?

—M.

Dear M,

Horary astrology is really excellent at questions such as these; and lots of people benefit from knowing whether a treatment will be successful, especially when the treatment is costly. I think there is a good possibility that you will have a baby through this treatment. It’s not a slam-dunk as you are not super-fertile, but you already knew that, since you are on fertility treatment.  The horary chart for your question is below:

Free astrology reading: When will I conceive? Will it be a boy or girl?

At first glance, the picture is not overly encouraging. We see that several important planets in the horoscope are in barren signs; the Moon, which rules your first house of self; Mars, ruling the 5th house of children, and Saturn, ruling your husband – are all in Virgo. But all is not lost. We have the benefic planet Venus, in Cancer, the most fertile sign, right inside the ascendant (the house ruling your body). This is very positive in a question like yours.

Most important of all, the planets do seem to show conception through fertility treatment. We see that the Moon (you) has most recently conjoined Saturn. Then, we have Mars (the baby) applying to conjoin Saturn. So Saturn here acts as a collector of light from Mars and the Moon. Saturn would be the treatment, bringing you and the baby together.

When will this happen? Moon already contacted Saturn, but Mars has yet to do so; we have to see when the other shoe will drop, so to speak. Mars conjoins Saturn in about 1.5 degrees. Because Mars is in a common sign, we can stretch that a bit, and expect maybe 3-4 time units. I would expect this to be months, since the situation has been going on for a while. However – and this is important – it is possible that the conception will happen in 3-4 weeks. This is because we have such a fertile planet right inside the Ascendant. Also, the Moon will shortly sextile the Sun, which might mean a more imminent conception than 3-4 months. But it’s good to be conservative and be pleasantly surprised.

You asked about the baby’s gender. There are more testimonies for a girl; especially again because Venus in a feminine sign is so prominent.

Good luck, and please let me know what happens!

Free Astrology Readings: Horary Astrology – “Will My Son & I Reconcile?”

October 10, 2007 by

Mother and Child in the Dunes illustrating Horary Astrology Question

Horary Astrology Question:

I divorced my husband in 1999 after 28 years of marriage. My oldest son was married at the time and only wanted my happiness. My youngest son was 18 at the time and remained living with my ex. After a year of dealing with increasing hostility from my son, I moved to California to live.

It has been six years since I have seen my youngest son and he has called me only when he needed money to solve a problem that he got himself into. After the last 2 years, he has now written me again for help. I don’t want to give him any money without responsibility and am waiting until I can have a real conversation with him. But I do want him back in my life in a real relationship. Will that ever happen & when?

—E.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear E.,

It seems to me that your younger son wants to have his cake and eat it too; he wants your money, but he also wants the moral high ground on the divorce. He cannot have both, regardless of how unjustified he thinks your divorce was. I cast a horary chart to get a sense of when a reconciliation may happen. The horoscope is below:

Horary Astrology Free Reading - Horoscope illustration: Reconcile with Son?

We can see that the situation is bothering you a great deal, and that you do love your son very much. Of course you do; he is your son! The ruler of your first house of self is Saturn, which is in the sign and exaltation of Mercury. Mercury rules the fifth house of children, and so it shows your son. Saturn is in the eighth house of fear, which indicates your anguish over the situation. [Frequent readers of this advice column will notice that in a disproportionate number of charts, the person’s planet is in the eighth house, showing that they are anxious or fearful about the issue.]

It may be that you do not have all the facts in the situation, or are simply blinded by the powerful emotions at work. This is shown by the fact that your co-significator, the Moon, is combust and moving deeper into a conjunction with the Sun. In either case, it would be most helpful for you to gather more information, both from third parties, and in talking to your son. You might learn more about the reasons for his hostility that you previously thought.

How does your son feel? He seems to have an exaggerated anger toward you; as evidenced by the fact that Mercury is in the fall of the Moon. In order for reconciliation to happen, Mercury will have to be out of Scorpio, to exit this bad reception with the Moon. Mercury is now grinding to a halt, as it will turn retrograde in a couple of days, and during this time, there will be two contacts with Saturn, indicating that you will be in touch with him more often in the not too distant future.

Venus will aspect Saturn (you), then Mars, then Mercury (your son). There may be an attempt to reconcile, perhaps by the means of a third party, but something may get in the way. Mercury itself will form a sextile aspect to Saturn, so I would expect another try at reconciliation in four or five months, maybe a little bit later than that. However, I don’t think that the two of you will really patch it up until the second half of 2008, which is symbolized by Mercury moving back into Libra, where it exalts Saturn. Regardless of the exact timing, I do believe that the two of you will eventually reconcile, and have a positive relationship, due to Mercury retrograding into Libra.

Unwilling Traveler - Free Astrology Readings: Horary Astrology – “Can I Stay Where I Am?”

Horary Astrology Question:

I’m a college student and I’m hopefully getting a job that I actually want in October but not completely sure. If I can’t, I have to go live with my Mom in a town where I would know no one. I’ve fallen in love with this town and I would like to know if I’m going to be able to somehow make ends meet and stick it here.

—K.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear K.,

I know how you must feel; I have a few places in the world where I would like to live, but our desires and reality are not always the same thing. I cast a horary astrological chart for the time of your question, and the horoscope for that is below:

Horary Astrology Horoscope - Free Astrology Readings: Horary Astrology – “Can I Stay Where I Am?”

I’m afraid that you may not be able to stay where you are. The Lord of the first house of self, Mars, is about to change signs, which is one testimony of an impending move. The fact that Mars is about to move into the sign of its fall, Cancer, makes me think that you are going to be in a situation you don’t like. The Moon, your co-significator, is in the double sign Pisces, which also is a hint that you may not be able to stay were you want.

This makes me wonder about the job that you are expecting. Mercury, ruler of the 10th house of work, is in the detriment of Mars, and will shortly trine Mars. If Mercury was not so badly disposed toward Mars, I would say you will get the job. However, because the job seems to dislike you, you will either not get the job, or the job will simply not be very good and you will not keep it.

Either way, as far as the job goes, good riddance. The 10th house cusp of career is extremely afflicted, telling us that there is something seriously wrong with this job. Saturn is on the 10th house cusp, as is the South node, both of which are highly malefic influences, and you give discouraging testimony regarding this job prospect.

Free Astrology Readings: Horary Astrology – “Will We Get Married?”

September 24, 2007 by

Young Bride, illustrating Horary Astrology Horoscope illustrating Free Astrology Readings: Horary Astrology – “Will We Get Married?”

Horary Astrology Question:

C. and I were together for a considerable amount of time and spoke of marriage in the future. We broke up because he said he needed time. This is the man that I believe in my heart I am to marry but I’m also obviously having a big moment of doubt due to the breakup. Will we be married?

—R.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear R.,

I am sorry to hear of your relationship problems. I cast a horary chart for the time I understood your question. The horoscope is below:

Horary Astrology – “Will We Get Married?”

You are represented by the ruler of the first house of self, Mars in Gemini in the eighth house. Planets in the eighth house can show a person is afraid or deeply worried about the situation; this has obviously been weighing heavily on your mind. Your emotions are shown by the Moon in Pisces, and the fourth house. The fourth house rules endings, so you have been deeply emotionally affected by the breakup.

We seeing is that the Moon is in the exaltation of Venus; so you think very highly of whatever Venus represents. Venus is your boyfriend’s significator, as it rules the seventh house of partners. Unfortunately, Venus does not reciprocate your high regard. It is in Leo, the sign and triplicity of the Sun. Given that the Sun represents your boyfriends urge to find a mate, or physical attraction, we get the sense that he is most interested in fulfilling those needs at this time. Nor does he appear to be lusting after you: the Sun is in Libra, where it is ruled by Venus. The fact that the Sun is in the sign of its fall, hints at the possibility that he is in no condition to get married.

With the Moon in the house of endings about to oppose Saturn, and no applying aspects between your planets and his, I am afraid that the two of you will not get married. The interest from his side just isn’t there.

There is one thing in this chart that caught my attention, and perhaps you can explain it to me. We see Mercury in Libra in your 12th house of secrets, trine Mars, receiving Mars into its detriment, and conjunct the Moon by antiscion. This would indicate three possibilities; there is someone in your life that you’re not mentioning, somebody in his life that you don’t know about, or a false friend who has been causing trouble in your relationship. In any case, things are not as they seem, and not necessarily to your benefit.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Astrology – When Should I Sell My House?

May 10, 2007 by

Worcestershire Homes

Horary Question:

My husband just got a letter this week from his job explaining that he has one more year to go (May 2008) in his position and his contract will not be renewed.

We were planning to put the house for sale in September. However, I just spoke with a friend, who is a real estate agent and she advised us to put it on the market right away because the market is going to drop here in Phoenix. My question is then to find out the best possible time to put it up for sale.

—G.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear G.,

You’re definitely not the only person asking this question in today’s real estate market! As always, I cast a horary chart for the time that I understood your question. Because you are asking for the best time to do something, we can use the horary chart to determine the most favorable time for you to list your house for sale. This method is not as precise as electional astrology, which takes your birth chart into consideration to give a precise time down to the minute. However, very often a rough idea of timing is sufficient for our purposes. The horary chart for your question is below:

Horary Astrology - Best time to sell house?

We will look primarily for some way that we can strengthen Mercury, the ruler of the fifth house, as the fifth house rules profit from real estate (which is ruled by the fourth house). Currently, Mercury is at 28.21° Taurus in the 12th house; at this very moment, the potential for making lots of money from your house is not very strong. The good news is that very shortly, Mercury is going to move into its own sign of Gemini. This will happen in about 1.5°, which in this case translates to 1.5 months from today. It obviously cannot be years, as you would need to sell before your husband’s job ends next May.

I certainly would not list the house earlier than early July, though at any time afterwards you will be in the clear. As a result, you can list as early as July, or go with your original plan of September; either will work fine.

Free Astrology Reading: Horary Astrology – Will I Marry This Year?

May 8, 2007 by

Love’s Votaries

Horary Question:

Will I get married this year? I’ve been on a very significant and very spiritual relationship for about six years now. We’ve tried so hard to get together but trouble after trouble beset us. This year we want to be together after not seeing each other in years.

We’ve had problems with our parents who opposed the relationship before. It is much better now however. We live in different countries.

I should note that I try to be as self-reliant as possible. If you’d rather not answer the question, then please tell me what problems there are and what I can do to work this out on my own. There is a lot of karma and past life ties between us (can’t tell you how I know) and we are both occult practitioners besides. I feel I have lessons to learn and things to do on my end.

–J.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear J.,

Thank you for writing to me; I can sense the suffering that you have experienced throughout this relationship due to circumstances outside of your control. As I did the reading for you, I realized that I had no idea what your gender was — most of the people who write to me are women, so I will assume you’re female. Choosing the wrong gender would normally affect the reading, but in your case, the planets are configured such that it would not make a difference. The horary chart for your question is below:

Horary Astrology - Marry this year?

In this horoscope, you are symbolized by Mercury, ruler of the first house of self, you need to find a mate is shown by Venus, in your emotions are symbolized by the Moon. The man in question is Jupiter, ruler of your seventh house of partners. His need to find a mate is indicated by the Sun. We will see how all of these planets relate to one another to discover the level of motivation the two of you have to marry, and also whether the opportunity to do so will arise this year.

We see that Mercury is in Taurus, where it is in the sign of Venus and exaltation of the Moon. So on the superficial, rational level, you seem primarily interested in finding a relationship, rather than in this person in particular. However, we also see that Venus, one of your co-significators, has just moved into Cancer, where it exalts Jupiter (his significator). So you very much want to find a mate, and you are putting this guy on a little bit of a pedestal as a result. Emotionally, we can certainly see how challenging this relationship has been; the Moon is in its detriment in Capricorn, and in the fall of Jupiter.

You certainly seem to have been discouraged about the relationship recently, and see marriage as a way to solidify the commitment. This is because your relationship as a separate entity from the two of you is ruled by Mars, since it disposits the Part of Marriage at 27 Scorpio. The good news is that the Moon is about to enter Aquarius, where it is considerably stronger.

For his part, Jupiter is in its own sign in Sagittarius, indicating that he is quite happy where he is. In Sagittarius, Jupiter is in the detriment of Mercury, indicating that his contentment with things as they are harms you. The Sun, his co-significator, is in the sign of Venus and exaltation of the Moon, so he is very interested in having a relationship for the sake of being in a partnership. Unfortunately, the Sun is in the 12th house, from where it cannot act very well. So the part of him that is very motivated to pursue this is simply not in charge. For practical reasons, I do not think he can enter a commitment this year.

Unfortunately, I do not believe that marriage will happen for you this year. None of your planets is aspecting any of his planets, which we want to see in order for marriage to happen. This is confirmed by the fact that the Moon is void of course, meaning that it will not make any more aspects in its current sign before changing to a new sign. You asked for advice: the biggest challenge of the two of you face is that neither of you is in a strong position to act and seriously commit to this relationship. If you really want to make this relationship happen, one or both of you will have to dramatically change your lives.

Free Astrology Reading: Horary Astrology – Should I Sue or Settle?

May 7, 2007 by

Musicians

Horary Question:

A major music artist has recreated parts of my music in two of his songs. He also copied my conceptual theme on his cover and used a similar theme in his lyrics.

I have written his manager twice and have received a denial twice. I have discovered very good links of access. I cannot afford the high cost of an attorney and am considering representing myself.

My third communication to them will be a bill for my services rendered for a reasonable amount based on the circumstances.

Should I push towards reaching an out of court settlement or just file in federal court for a judgement?

—A.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear A.,

Thank you for such an interesting and serious question. Before we get started, you should know that on this blog, I can only advise you as an astrologer, not an attorney. First, I am sorry to hear about what happened to you; from what I understand, this kind of behavior is rampant in the musical industry. Too, major artists have so much more money and legal firepower behind them that less powerful plaintiffs are at a huge disadvantage, regardless of the merits of their case.

But, let’s get to your chart. I cast a horary chart for the time that I understood your question. The horary chart for your question is below:

Sue or Settle?

You are represented by the ruler of the first house of self, the Sun, and your co-significator is the Moon. The other side is represented by the ruler of the seventh house of opponents, Saturn.

First, let us see whether you will be able to settle with the artist out of court. I take it as a favorable sign that Saturn is in the first house, and your power, as it were. We also note that Saturn is in its detriment in Leo, which can show that this other person is seriously in the wrong. Unfortunately, cases are not always decided on right and wrong.

We see that the Sun is about to square Saturn, which indicates that you will likely go to court, but will reach settlement before the verdict will be handed down. The fact that the first and seventh houses are ruled by fixed signs, and each of your significators being in a fixed sign, indicates that an out-of-court settlement before a lawsuit is filed is rather unlikely. Both parties insist on their rights, and will have it no other way.

I suspect that after the suit is filed (sooner or later, hopefully sooner), the defendant will see the writing on the wall and choose to settle. This is because we see the verdict, ruled by the fourth house of the end of the matter, harming the defendant. The planet in question is Venus, and it is about to move from Gemini into the detriment of Saturn, Cancer.

One final word: as far as representing yourself, you should give it a try, but be open to hiring a lawyer when and if necessary. You may be a very savvy plaintiff, of course, but I am concerned that you may find yourself somewhat outgunned by major label lawyers. Good luck, and please keep me posted.

Free Astrology Advice: Will I Ever Marry?

March 4, 2007 by

Marriage at Cana

Horary Question:

In 2000, I fell deeply in love with a man I thought I would marry and I also got my dream job. Unfortunately, both of these situations failed miserably after 9/11. I haven’t been in a serious relationship or a permanent job since — just lots of dating and lots of temping, despite putting tons of effort into both areas. : )

I think it is about time for me to have a change of luck, and since I would very much like to marry and have a family soon, I wonder when that will finally happen?

—S.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear S.,

As you can probably tell from reading the questions on my website, it seems like everyone in the world has the same problem, or at least a similar one. Maybe I am in the wrong business, and really should use this blog to provide introductions… but, I digress. Horary astrology is an excellent tool to learn when you will get married, even though it is better to look at the natal chart, horary will usually give us a pretty good rough estimate. The horary chart for your question is below:

Will I Ever Marry? Horary Horoscope

You are shown by ruler of the first house, Mercury, which is in Aquarius, retrograde in the sixth house. Mercury also rules the Part of Marriage, which is at 7° of Virgo. Mercury has recently retrograde back from Pisces, where it was in its own detriment and fall, indicating a situation where you were unhappy in the past and/or didn’t wish to marry. But, you have obviously changed your mind. The Moon, showing your emotions, is also in Virgo, indicating that you are very interested in marriage at the moment, and also are rethinking your priorities. Your feminine “must find a man” side is shown by Venus in Aries. Venus is in the seventh house of relationships, so we can see that again, in general, you are ready for a relationship.

Your potential husband is shown by the ruler of the seventh house, Jupiter in Sagittarius. Jupiter in Sagittarius is wonderful to see, because he is very powerful here, except that he is in the detriment of Mercury. So we have a sense here that the man you will have the opportunity to marry is very interested in himself, and may not be very interested in marriage. His co-significator, the Sun, showing that aspect of him which also wants to find a mate, is shown by the Sun in Pisces. In Pisces, the Sun hates whatever Mercury represents (most likely marriage, since presumably you do not know him yet), but he exalts Venus, showing that he does want a partner. We see that Venus and Jupiter will form a trine aspect in about 4°, indicating that an opportunity to marry him will arise in four somethings (I would imagine years, but feel free to prove me wrong and get the proposal in four months).

As far as kids are concerned, the chart does not show it to be an absolute dealbreaker, but neither does it show you brimming over with fertility. I do not love the ruler of your fifth house of children in a barren sign (Saturn in Leo), afflicting the spouse’s house of fertility. The Moon is also in the barren sign of Virgo. However, both Venus and Mercury are in semi-fertile sign, so there is some hope, and I wouldn’t rule out a child in the future. The safer thing to do may be to try fertility treatment but don’t go overboard if it doesn’t work out the first time, and consider other options.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Whom Do I Really Love?

February 28, 2007 by

angeloflove.jpg

Horary Question:

I`m a little bit confused. I`ve been in an on-and-off relationship for one and a half years, but this relationship ended last autumn. In January, I met a man, whom I feel a strong attraction to and who seems to be very interested in me. Everything could be fine, but now that other man, which whom I broke up in autumn, has come back into my thoughts and dreams, and I feel that I may still have feelings for him. That is very confusing, and I`m not sure if I can trust in my own feelings anymore; and I need to know where I really stand emotionally. Whom do I love?

—K.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear K.,

Thanks for sending in your question – it seems so simple, but I can understand that your emotions about the situation are rather complicated. Most people want to know about the feelings of others, but it’s very true that what matters most are our own feelings, and very often, they should be examined first. I cast a horary chart for the time that I understood your question, and the chart is below:

I think you’re still very much smitten with your old boyfriend, but he is not particularly interested in you. We see this because Mars, ruler of your first house of self (representing you) has recently left Capricorn, where it was in the sign of Saturn, and moved into Aquarius, where it is still in the sign of Saturn. This way, we can be pretty sure that the old boyfriend is represented by Saturn. Saturn, on the other hand, is in the sign of its detriment in Leo, and it is retrograde. It is not in strong dignities of Mars, or your co-significator, the Moon. It looks as though Saturn has his own issues to deal with, and as far as he is concerned, you are out of the picture. So yes, I do think you are still in love with your old boyfriend, but that feeling is not reciprocated, nor would I expect that to change in the near future.

The new guy must then be shown by the ruler of your seventh house of partners, Venus in Aries. Since Venus is so very interested in Mars, this new guy seems highly interested in you as well. The problem is that neither of your significators, Mars and the Moon, are particularly interested in him. Neither are in strong dignities of Venus. However, we do see that the Moon will trine Venus, but without strong mutual reception by those planets, we cannot expect that this relationship will last. Again, I would expect that this is because emotionally, you are still getting over the old relationship. Even though Moon in Leo is in the detriment of Saturn, therefore showing that your emotions feel hurt or dislike the old boyfriend, the fact remains that as a personality (Mars) you are still taken with the old boyfriend, and will remain so for a while. While this is the case, you’re obviously not going to be relationship material.

Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – I Hate Him: Will He Come Back?

February 27, 2007 by

Rural Love

Horary Question:

I was in a relationship for nearly four years; it was volatile and constant breaking up but it was always me as he never understood what he was doing. Beer/Friends/Football was number 1. I gave him my full 110% in the relationship but he couldn’t see it I was an asset that can achieve so much. I always chased him from day one; we’ve broken up loads and go back after him telling him I am sorry for everything I have done.

Then he never lets me live it down all the things I have done. We did split on bad terms this time and he hates me. It’s been since the 4th January 2007; that’s when I last saw him or heard. No contact has been made and nor can it come from me as I will lose friends, family, and that little respect I have left. I just want to know I was worth it, and for him to realize he was actually wrong and treated me very badly. This would make me feel the four years wasn’t a waste of time on someone so undeserving.

He hurt me a lot, now I want him to be in my shoes for once trying to get back calling, chasing etc. This might be silly but if he does when I say NO, I will get my respect and confidence back. Will he try and get back with me and when?

—G.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear G.,

It is always interesting to get the astrological perspective on what’s going on inside the mind of a person obviously engrossed with himself. Those of us who are at least aware of the existence of other people in the world find it hard to believe that someone could be so focused entirely on their own needs, to the exclusion of everyone and everything else. And yet, the world is full of these people. I cast a horary chart for your question, to see how he really feels about you and whether he would try to get you back. The horary chart for your question is below:

Will He Come Back? Horary Question

In this horoscope, you’re shown by Mars, ruler of the first house of self, and your emotions are shown by the Moon. He is shown by the ruler of your seventh house of partners, Venus, and his male urge to find a mate, or his pants, is shown by the Sun in Pisces. We see that recently Mars has left its exaltation in Capricorn, where it was in the triplicity of Venus, so we see you exiting the relationship, which didn’t seem that strong to begin with. Triplicity is not the stuff that grand passions are made of.

So how does he feel about you? Seemingly, he is still interested in you. Venus is in Aries, in your first house, which gives us a sense that he is still very interested and thinks of you. However, Venus is also in the exaltation of the Sun. So he likes you a great deal, but he likes his hormones and himself a lot as well. The Sun, showing his physical attraction, is not particularly interested in Mars, it is only in its triplicity. However, seeing it in the 12th house of self undoing (or his sixth house, which is also very malefic), gives me the sense that it’s going to be very hard for him to bestir himself to do anything about this.

Reinforcing this concept is the fact that the Moon is void of course, meaning it will not make any other aspect in its current sign. This usually means that nothing more will happen in the situation. We also do not see any of your planets meeting with his planets, for better or for worse. So my feeling is that he is just too self-absorbed, and not in a good place in his life, to really try to make an effort to reconcile.
