For example, if you have progressed Sun conjunct natal Saturn in 5 Virgo this year, that degree has been sensitized, and the Mars-Saturn conjunction may well trigger that progression. It certainly is not a benefic combination, so generally positive events would not transpire, but there are exceptions. I have had this Mars-Saturn trigger a very positive event for me personally, something I had been anticipating for many years.
