Horary Question:

A major music artist has recreated parts of my music in two of his songs. He also copied my conceptual theme on his cover and used a similar theme in his lyrics.

I have written his manager twice and have received a denial twice. I have discovered very good links of access. I cannot afford the high cost of an attorney and am considering representing myself.

My third communication to them will be a bill for my services rendered for a reasonable amount based on the circumstances.

Should I push towards reaching an out of court settlement or just file in federal court for a judgement?

Thank you for such an interesting and serious question. Before we get started, you should know that on this blog, I can only advise you as an astrologer, not an attorney. First, I am sorry to hear about what happened to you; from what I understand, this kind of behavior is rampant in the musical industry. Too, major artists have so much more money and legal firepower behind them that less powerful plaintiffs are at a huge disadvantage, regardless of the merits of their case.

But, let’s get to your chart. I cast a horary chart for the time that I understood your question. The horary chart for your question is below:

You are represented by the ruler of the first house of self, the Sun, and your co-significator is the Moon. The other side is represented by the ruler of the seventh house of opponents, Saturn.

First, let us see whether you will be able to settle with the artist out of court. I take it as a favorable sign that Saturn is in the first house, and your power, as it were. We also note that Saturn is in its detriment in Leo, which can show that this other person is seriously in the wrong. Unfortunately, cases are not always decided on right and wrong.

We see that the Sun is about to square Saturn, which indicates that you will likely go to court, but will reach settlement before the verdict will be handed down. The fact that the first and seventh houses are ruled by fixed signs, and each of your significators being in a fixed sign, indicates that an out-of-court settlement before a lawsuit is filed is rather unlikely. Both parties insist on their rights, and will have it no other way.

I suspect that after the suit is filed (sooner or later, hopefully sooner), the defendant will see the writing on the wall and choose to settle.
