Absolutely fabulous photo you chose for this entry. As for venus, I don't have a clue where she is in my chart but Man hass she ever been on my mind (in my dreams, spilling out onto my journal etc) over this past year, actually four if I count backwards.

Do you do birth charts or readings for people? I've been reading your blog when I have the time, and really really dig it.

I accidentally read that the placement of Venus in the sixth house is not good! Is it true? Because I was born on 13/12/1978 about 4 pm in Cairo Egypt...so in my birth chart venus is placed in my 6th house in Scorpio. So is this really a bad placement that I'm going to suffer from for the rest of my life? Or is it temporary? Please advise. Thank you.

I have Venus in Taurus in my natal fifth house, which seems to work pretty well most of the time for me. I do have an appreciation of the "good life" in terms of great food, beautiful surroundings, etc. Where I am extremely fortunate in this placement is through my offspring. My kids are very fortunate in both their looks and personalities, and I am both astounded and grateful. This may also have to do with the fact that my natal moon in Cancer sextiles Venus in Taurus.
The downside? Juno is in Scorpio (my 12th house) EXACTLY opposed to my natal Venus, which means marital trouble due to secret love affairs. I guess you can't have everything...

Hi Nina,

Actually, Even though it's third house, I have a similar experience of being saved at the last minute from financial disaster :)

Hi Melody,

Thanks for your great comment. The famous English astrologer William Lilly had Venus in Taurus (2nd house) opposite Saturn in Scorpio, and he got into some financial trouble, but Venus always saved him at the last minute. It sounds like that's been kind of the case with you too, though perhaps more with 3rd house issues?

Warmly,
Nina

My Venus in Taurus is part of an opposition in a bowl chart, so the layers of meaning have unraveled over time, and I could write a book!

My Venus in Taurus is in the third house opposite Saturn retrograde in the 9th. My appreciation of desire for beauty in my everyday environment has never been a problem and I value beautiful thought and speech. Money comes easily but goes just as quickly, although for a single parent with virtually no outside support, homeschooling my daughters and a very special needs (Down Syndrome) son, I marvel at how graceful and beautiful my everyday living (third house) is….cute house, beautiful city, leisure time, organic food and quality possessions….but always a hair away from disaster (Saturn in Scorpio).

Then there is the philosophical layer of integrating this level of material and lifestyle appreciation with deep philosophical meanderings related to inequality, poverty (I grew up in third world countries where my parent’s lifestyle was upper class amidst third world poverty and crisis – another reflection of the opposition) and I give money even if I’m struggling to put food on the table to any street person who asks.

Of course the self worth issue has been a huge struggle, basically completely hammered out with extreme religious conditioning (Saturn.Scorpio/9th) and Venus in Taurus has been a liability relative to compensating through a beautiful body – which of course inevitably wears down and hopefully one has sufficiently replace the external with internal values/worth.

Relationships…..I’m still waiting for the silver lining of that cloud to manifest!

So, I love my Venus in Taurus, and it has also been one of the more difficult aspects of my chart.

Hm. I have Venus in Taurus, but it doesn't work out well for me at all because mine is nothing but afflicted (T-square). So I wouldn't know!
