Will the love of my life ever return? I am 27. The love of my life is my first real love (and vice-versa) and whom I thought fate had in store for me to marry and settle down with through conquering our ups and downs over 4 years and reuniting one last time from opposite geographical ends of the earth.We travelled everywhere together and felt like soulmates – to me it had always felt like fate had meant us to be together from the moment we met, to the moment we reunited.
There didn’t seem to be any prominent reasons for our last and so far final breakup that occurred at the end of November 2005 other than living together placing pressure on us, and lifestyle and environment issues impeding our relationship, I think my my inbuilt resentment over past hurts by him (which I reassured him would go away) deflated him. He split up with me.
I dream about him all the time, think about him everyday, and can’t get him out of my head enough to actively want to move on. I have a feeling he thinks about me also all the time but is too confused and inflenced by outside pressures to know what to do. But I cannot be sure of this and hope you can give me an insight into where his head is and his intentions are. I need to know this, because if I am holding onto false hope I am just wasting my time.

Thank you so much for your insight!
I identified very much with the him focussing on ‘him’ bit. Toward the end (particularly) of our relationship he was always so focussed on his own needs rather than being sensitive towards my own feelings or what I might be going through, and thus I started resenting this fact. Would it be fair to say from your described reading that he is so into himself, there isn’t even a prominent 3rd party? As for my 3rd parties..I hope some exist or come into fruition soon (?) because clearly I can’t keep holding out for this man when he isn’t interested in me.
