Free Astrology Advice: Horary Question – Are We Through? Does He Love Me?

Horary Question:

I’m recently separated. My husband of 13 1/2 years, walked out last March and almost immediately filed for divorce. It’s been a very painful year. I’m still grieving for my lost marriage, my lost hopes.

My husband is going through a midlife crisis of sorts. He lost his job several years ago and decided to go to college and finish his undergraduate degree. After 4 1/2 years of college, he’s almost done. Now he wants to go to graduate school… and says he can’t pay child support. He’s living with his parents. Also, my kids are really angry at him. And this is cause for concern. I’m nearly certain that we have no future together, but I’d like this confirmed.

Meanwhile, I have had a crush on a man I’ve known for several years. I think he is the bee’s knees, even if he is very private and seems not to be attracted to me at all. We are friends. And we talk daily. Any future for us?

—M.

Nina Gryphon:

Dear M.,

I’m sorry to hear about your husband, who seems to be having issues greater than just your marriage. We’ll have to look at the chart and identify each of the men; since the seventh house of partners can only show one person at a time, we will have to decide what planet shows whom, based on the receptions among the planets. The horoscope for your question is below:

Reconcile or the New Man? Horary Question

You are shown by Mercury, Venus, and the Moon. Each of these planets represent a different facet of yourself in this situation. We will discuss each one as it becomes applicable throughout the analysis. Let us see if we can locate your husband. He is shown by Saturn in Leo, retrograde. Mercury has recently opposed Saturn, an aspect that shows breakups or separations.

Saturn is in terrible shape as it is in the sign of its detriment, so we can see that your husband is not doing well at the moment. Mercury, showing you, is in the sign of Saturn, indicating that you are still trying to extricate yourself from the feelings and bonds you have developed with your husband. Mercury is about to exit Aquarius and move into Pisces. This tells me that in less than a year called you will have moved on. I do not think that the two of you will reconcile in the foreseeable future.

Since your husband the shown by Saturn, and the guy you’re interested in is shown by the seventh house of partners. The house is ruled by Jupiter in Sagittarius, where it is in its own sign. This tells me that your friend is primarily interested in himself, and he does not seem to be in a place where he is open to a relationship with you. I wouldn’t take it personally, but just recognize that he is simply not available at this time. His co-significator is the Sun, which is in Aquarius, the sign of its detriment. He doesn’t seem very available on the physical level, either. I don’t see any of your planets Mercury, Venus, or the Moon about to meet with his planets, which tells me that there probably won’t be much of an opportunity for the two of you have a romantic relationship. Of course, this does not mean that the two of you can’t be friends. I am a little bit concerned about Mercury moving into Pisces, which is the sign of Jupiter. I suspect you may find yourself more and more attracted to your friend, and I hope it does not destroy your friendship.

My main feeling about both of these relationships is that things will remain largely as they are. The Moon is void of course, meaning that it will not make any more aspects in its current sign of Cancer. The Moon void of course tends to indicate that the situation will not change, and not much will happen.

I was just reading the moons VOC in the fertile signs (such as cancer, taurus, sag, pisces) can tend to void out the effects of a VOC…is this true?

    Hi Gem,

Not that I’ve seen. BTW, Taurus & Sagittarius are not traditionally considered fertile signs, only the water signs are fertile.

    Warmly,
    Nina

If I remember correctly Lilly says that a void of course moon in the signs ruled by Jupiter (Sagittarius and Pisces) “can still work somewhat”. But given the rest of the testimonies above, I doubt if it will be of any help here. Also a note to the querent: your ex said ‘he cant pay child support’; get a lawyer and put his butt in jail if he doesnt. Anyone who can afford college has no excuse for not taking care of their own children!
    Best wishes…

Nina, you’re incredible. Thanks so much for this. It’s scarily accurate.
I have to learn how to do this myself.

    Hi Marie,

Wow, thank you [takes bow]! I hope you meet someone fabulous, even if it doesn’t work out with these two guys.

    Warmly,
    Nina

    Hi Gary,

Yes, Lilly does say that. But he also says a lot of things that he doesn’t apply in practice. VOC Moon tends to mean: “Nothing will happen, unless there is a strong testimony to the contrary.” It’s more of an additive testimony in most cases than anything else. Here, there isn’t much else going on, so the VOC Moon is dispositive.

I second the deadbeat husband approach, by the way. Unacceptable.

    Warmly,
    Nina

    Hi Susie!

The 1/7th house axis is the *relationship* axis, not just for marriages. The one night stands are 7th house people, just like the people to whom we are married. So here we face the problem of two guys vying for rulership of the 7th house. We have to use the planetary receptions, past aspects, and the like, to see who is who – one will rule the 7th, while the other will be represented by some other planet.

    Warmly,
    Nina
