ladyreadingletter Planets in Your Horoscope: Mercury enters Aquarius on January 15, 2007

Mercury is happy in Aquarius, or at least happier than it was in Capricorn, where it only has a little bit of strength for all of 6° out of 30. Mercury rules the triplicity of Aquarius by night, it is in its own term from 6 to 12°, and in its own face from 10° to 20° Aquarius.

What does this all mean? It means it is time for a mini electional astrology note. If you’re planning anything serious that is ruled by Mercury, you should probably do it now, because Mercury will not have a lot of strength until its arrival in Gemini in May, 2007. Mercury will stay in Aquarius until February 2, 2007. After that, it enters Pisces, where it is both in its fall and detriment.

Important Note: I know I talk about certain activities being ruled by certain planets quite often on this blog, and as a professional astrologer, it seems really obvious to me that studying is a Mercury-ruled activity, for example. But if you are just now dipping your toes into the ocean of astrology, this may not be second nature yet. You might want to look at the planetary pages I have put together on the Gryphon astrology website, where every planet is extensively characterized, so you get some idea of what a typical Mercury activity would be. So, if you’re thinking to yourself, “what planet rules that book that I am writing?” Perusing the planetary pages would likely give you an answer. Then you would know what planet you need to wait for to get strong and make your move!
