I would like to know if, when and who I will marry and if and when we will have children. I am a 34 1/2 year old single woman who has had long term relationships but nothing panned out. I would love to find, meet and be in a long term relationship leading to a family of my own. I am pretty full and happy in my life and would like to share it with someone and my biological clock is ticking. Due to my age, I am not averse to adoption and would welcome it even as a single person, but would prefer to have a family with a husband or steady long term partner that I love and who loves me. I know I am older so hope if there are children they will be healthy.

Your question is certainly not uncommon; even with all of our supposed advances in women’s liberation, most women are still deeply concerned by just such questions. When we see a question like yours, the first thing to figure out is whether the requested husband and children will materialize. Once we have established that they will, only then can we determine the exact circumstances.
I cast a horoscope for the moment that I understood your question, using the method known as horary astrology. Horary astrology comes from the Greek word meaning “of the hour” because the horoscope is set for the moment the question was born, as it were. The answer to your question will be found in the horoscope for the question. The horary chart for your question is below:
Let us address the marriage issue first. You are shown by Mercury, Venus, and the Moon. Your future husband is shown by Jupiter and the Sun. We would want to find an aspect between your planets and his to determine that the two of you will in fact marry. The good news is that in this chart — and this is quite unusual — we have more aspects than we can shake a stick at.
The Moon (your emotional side) will trine Jupiter in about 5°, giving us one piece of evidence. Mercury (you as a personality) will conjoin the Sun (his male “must find mate” side) in about 2°. Finally, Venus (your female side) will sextile Jupiter in about 9°. Some of these combinations have better receptions than others; but they can still bring about marriage. Of all of these, I would probably put the most faith in the Mercury-Sun conjunction. Because it is in a Cardinal sign and a succedent house, the normal way to time it would be two months; this would be a fairly rapid marriage, indeed. To be on the safe side, I would probably extend it out to two years and say you’ll get engaged within two years.
So, we have marriage. Now let us see whether we can locate some kids in the chart. Both Mercury and Jupiter are in moderately fertile signs, though Mercury is afflicted because of its proximity to the Sun, which is considered a pretty strong planetary affliction. So there is about a 25% chance of having kids. Because of the affliction to Mercury, I would not expect a giant brood of them running about the place. Something more modest on the order of one child or so seems more likely. The most likely aspect showing children would be Moon conjunct Saturn; we can usually push through various intermediate aspects in this case. This would also give about a two-year indication; it’s probably safe to say that if you do not have kids within two or three years or so, it is rather unlikely you’ll have them.

Firstly, thanks again for all of your help in casting the chart. I am very appreciative and it has given me just the boost I have needed of late.
I have been doing some online reading and think I need to find a good horary book! It is quite a lot to learn and I have been having a great time learning from your blog. I was trying to sort out how you determine the character of the ‘quesited’…as he is pisces/jupiter but jupiter in the fourth house…does that mean he will have cancerian characteristics?
I was also searching on your site trying to determine the quality of the relationship…I suppose whatever I chose to get into (I hope) would be good, but I noticed there have been some charts that were not…how do you find this out? Is there a good starter book for this?

As an update to your chart drawing, I met someone about two weeks ago that I am quite excited about. Funny thing is, he is a pisces and he travels a lot for work (of which is jupiter in nature)….I think all of these things were shown in the chart and the timing of us meeting is right on. Though I have your analysis in the back of my mind…it’s not something I have been trying to manifest. I have been dating voraciously the last few months meeting lots of people and honestly he is the first person I am truly excited about.
It hasn’t been very long, but is very very promising so far.

With the quesiteds planet in his own sign and not the sign of the querent, would this mean little interest in the querent? Or are the aspects enough and mutual receptions enough to indicate love/interest?
Well, it looks like we are getting engaged! I am absolutely thrilled, excited, happy beyond belief. He is the most amazing person and I feel blessed.

Here is an update:
*We met mid February ’07 ( 1 1/2 mos after I asked you the question) so timing was right
*We met our respective families in late May ’07 (about 5 mos after the question)
*We got engaged mid Nov ’07 and will be married this June ’08. We will try for a family immediately so hope it goes better than well.
*Interestingly my SO has been the one to push this relationship forward, has been really wonderful, and said it was love at first sight, and started designing and creating my engagement ring late last that summer. He started mentioning marriage very quickly after we met and it has been magical.
It took me a bit longer (oh, 2 wks) to come around due to some of the fear issues mentioned in my part of the chart (12H), I have been working on my psyche and hope to simply enjoy what I have. It is constant work to overcome negative thinking patterns but I am happy to do it!
Oh and side note on the pd. reading regarding career…I did not pursue law as you also indicated and am focusing on getting my certification for my current line of work. Interestingly, am looking at getting a cert in another field that is totally foreign to me, and hope this will be lucrative too.
