Question:

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for seven years. There are no health issues with either one of us. We have been through intra-uterine insemination and in-vitro fertilization to no avail. Would you be so kind to read me and let me know if there is a healthy pregnancy & birth in the near future? We are both in our late thirties. My husband has been tested for fertility and his sperm counts are average, though not above average.

Dear D.,

I really sympathize with your situation, because so many of my clients have the same issue, where they have been trying to conceive for a very long time with no success. In some cases, people know the causes for their infertility, but the most frustrating are cases like yours, where there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with either partner.

Predictive astrology, such as the method that I use, horary astrology, is not only good at telling you what will be, but it will give you a very good snapshot of the situation as it is. As a result, it is very helpful in situations where you just want to know what is going on.

As always, I cast horoscope for the moment I understood your question, which will give us a chart that contains the answer to your question. The horary chart for your conception question is below:

You are shown by Venus in Virgo, in the sixth house. Virgo is a barren sign, so the very placement of Venus tells us what we already know, that you’re having difficulty conceiving. The sixth house is the house of illness, so there is a hint here that there may be a hidden health issue with you. It could simply mean that the years of discouragement are affecting you negatively in your ability to conceive. In either case, it would be very helpful to get an unbiased opinion on your overall state both mentally and physically.

Moon in Scorpio, which is your co-significator and also the natural ruler of fertility, is quite weak in that sign, again showing us that you are not in a good position to conceive at the moment. The thing that concerns me most, however, is the presence of a very malefic Saturn in the fifth house of fertility and children. Saturn is in its detriment in Leo, and it is also a barren sign. Saturn rules the fifth house of fertility of your husband; or the fifth house from the seventh of partners. So there seems to be a very clear signal that your husband is most likely the cause of your difficulty conceiving here. I am not a fertility expert of any sort, but I am sure there is much more to fertility than just a high sperm count. So there may be issues of quality, rather than just quantity.

Even so, let us see if there is conception in your near future. The good news is that the Moon and Mars and the Sun are all in fertile or semi-fertile signs. So I do not think that all is lost, but I do think that you should have your husband very thoroughly examined physically. I do not see conception in the very near future, as I do not see a connection between the Sun, showing the child, and you, who is shown by Venus. This does not mean that you will never conceive, but rather that this obstacle shown by Saturn in the fifth must be removed first.
