As a practicing astrologer, I get a lot of horary astrology questions about love and romance, usually the unhappy kind, since when you’re happy, you don’t go to see an astrologer. You go spend quality time with your significant other, who presumably loves you too and also isn’t going to see an astrologer.

Here is one question that came to my attention recently, of the unrequited love variety. Over 30 years ago, the female querent (or, in English, the person asking the question) had rejected a man due to his inappropriate sexual advances. He then retaliated by having her fired and trying to have her evicted from her house. Recently, with the passage of time, she realized that she really did love him, and she recently wrote him a letter explaining her feelings. He did not respond, to her great chagrin, and she asked the question “Will he ever love me?” to get some closure on her feelings one way or another.

As the person asking the question, she is represented by the 1^st house and its ruler, Jupiter in Scorpio. The aspect of her symbolizing her need to find a mate is shown by Venus at 29 Leo, while her emotions are shown by the Moon in Aquarius.

The man is the 7^th house, shown by its ruler, Mercury in Virgo, and his biological urge to find a mate is shown by the Sun in Virgo.

How does she feel about him?

The querent does not seem terribly interested in the man right now; Jupiter in Scorpio is not in strong dignities of Mercury. Jupiter is actually pretty indifferent. However, Scorpio is a Mars sign, showing sex. So it could mean that we are looking at more of a physical attraction here. The Moon in Aquarius, showing her feelings, is also not in strong Mercury dignities. And Aquarius is the detriment of the Sun, so her feelings downright hate his “male bits.” This squares with what she has shared with us, that she rejected his sexuality, and apparently still does not feel very comfortable with it today.

And what about Venus? It is very strong right now, because it is on Regulus, so feels on top of the world. It, too, is not terribly interested in the man. But in moving into Virgo in less than half a degree, Venus goes into its fall and simultaneously into heavy Mercury dignities. So by her physical attraction to him, she will not do herself any favors.

How does he feel about her?

Mercury in Virgo is very strong, being both in its sign and exaltation. This can mean the man is very attractive and appealing. In Virgo, Mercury is in the the detriment of Jupiter, and in the fall of Venus. Does he currently love the querent? No. How does his…um, biological side feel? It is shown by the Sun, which is also in Virgo. So his pants are listening to his head, which does not like our querent. Since both planets are in the middle of the sign, it doesn’t look like he’ll change his mind soon.

However, she and the man may be in contact in the near future. The Sun is about to square Jupiter; since the Sun does not like Jupiter, it will likely not be a very lengthy or positive contact. Ditto because it’s a square, which is a tough aspect. So if they do meet or talk, she may end up wishing it were otherwise.
