Astrology of Eclipses: Lunar Eclipse of September 7, 2006

Lunar eclipse astrology - castle by the sea

The upcoming partial lunar eclipse on September 7th at 15 Pisces promises to have interesting effects. As someone with an interest in mundane astrology, I am always on the lookout for eclipses and their effects, though I have not blogged about them extensively. NASA has a truly excellent eclipse page.

According to traditional rules, eclipses have significant effects in the locations where they are actually visible. The lunar eclipse of September 7th will be visible in western Africa, most of Asia, western Australia, Eastern Europe and Russia. Of these locations, we can expect heightened activity in northern Egypt, the Republic of Georgia, and/or Turkey, all of which are traditionally under the sign of Pisces. Additionally, some modern countries who have horoscopes with contacts to 15 Pisces include Russia, India (the lunar eclipse is right on the Medium Coeli in New Delhi), and China.

When will the effects of the lunar eclipse be felt?

Egypt, Republic of Georgia, Turkey and Russia - begin between September 7 - 17, 2006, strongest between September 17 and October 1, 2006

India - begin between September 17 - 27, 2006, strongest between October 1 - 15th, 2006

China - begin between September 27 and October 7, 2006, strongest between October 15 - 29, 2006

How will the eclipse manifest?

Because the eclipse is in a double-bodied sign (Pisces), the greatest activity will occur with rulers of the affected lands, and their governments, also any people in power in general. We can expect this to be the case especially in India, where the eclipse is right on the MC in New Delhi.

The eclipse is primarily ruled by Jupiter, which is Lord of the Eclipse (since it is in Pisces). Jupiter causes everything to increase, usually good things such as wealth, livestock, peace, and fertility. He increases fame and power of the mighty and of religious leaders and organizations. William Lilly says “New Customs or Priviledges are conferd on the people; New Corporations, new Honours, &c.” However, because the lunar eclipse is in the second decanate of Pisces, it will bring “death to some Prime man of Princely discent.” Also, the lunar eclipse is on the fixed star Achernar, in the constellation of Eridanus, the river. Achernar is benefic, again ruled by Jupiter, for public office and fame, while the constellation Eridanus is Saturnian, and can bring danger by water.

Also, an eclipse in the watery triplicity can bring illnesses and plagues among the common people (and this is a very moist eclipse, ruled by Jupiter, a moist planet in Scorpio, a moist sign, and the eclipse itself is in Pisces, a moist sign), warlike rumblings, and floods. Specifically, there may be harm to plants and aquatic life.

I just finished Open Studios which was exhausting and full of petty studio politics. This lunar eclipse hit my Asc/Dsc (Virgo/Pisces) and the last month has been a difficult evaluation of my relationships, both persona and professional. I really like your page and read it constantly. Keep up the good work.

Hello! My daughter was born to the exact minute of the lunar eclipse on September 7th, 2006… 1:52 pm Central Time. To add to the story, me and my husband were both born on June 13th, 1978, in the exact same hospital…so we were actually in the nursery together! Do you have any thoughts or information about either of these rare occurances? I’ve been very interested in the concept of Twin Flames/Twin Souls, as I strongly believe that”s what me and my husband are. I also believe that our mission in this life was to create our daughter, who I believe to be an Indigo, or Crystal child. Do you have any thoughts on this connected to the fact that she was born on the lunar eclipse? Or do you think it was just an ironic twist of fate? Any info or ideas about any of this would greatly be appreciated, as I have really been trying to find someone to talk about this with! Thanks so much for your time!

    Hi Julie,

I overlooked your message - sorry. :-P That’s a really cool story about you and your husband’s births! I don’t know anything about this, from an astrological point of view, other than the two of you must have a very similar horoscope!

    Good luck!
    Nina

    Hi Brandina,

People born during an eclipse can have very powerful charts, assuming there are other indications in the horoscope of unusual ability.

    hi nina,
A great site you have here. And i really like your theories. They are truly revealing. I am married. My wife and me lost a baby girl on sept 7 2006 lunar eclipse. It’s been a year now and we’ve moved on, but the void remains. The events leading to our marriage were also pretty disconcerting. My wife is 12 years younger to me, and we were neighbours. Then there was physical attraction between us, which led my wife to conceive. We got to know pretty late about it, and then we decided that we didn’t want to abort the baby. When she was eight months pregnant, my father, who was abroad came back and that was when i revealed the situation to him. Btw, my father was pretty close to my wife before i knew her. Even though everyone was against our union in matrimony, he stood beside me and gave me strength to go ahead with my plans. We got married on August 26, 2006, which looks like a 888 to me. On sept 6, we travelled to a place called dehradun, 250 kms north of new delhi, india. There the next day we lost the child who had completed her term and was due for delivery, due to the natal cord coming around her neck and suffocating her. Very tormenting to have held her lifeless body while taking her for the funeral. My father too was devastated. My wife was physically scarred and mentally torn. But we’re now past it and things are looking rosier. My question is why did we have to go through with it, to balance our karma or to make us stronger or what? It has definately brought each of us together and made each one of us stronger. My dob is Sept.24, 1974 at 10:50pm in ranikhet, uttrakhand india, ist., and my wife deepa was born on sept 20, 1986 at 8:30 am at ranikhet, uttrakhand. Many thanks. Love ‘n peace, d.
